Editing SQL Server with MapWindow 5

In the past two posts, we saw how to edit with:

  • AutoCAD Map 3D
  • QGIS
  • ArcMap
  • ArcGIS Pro
  • MapInfo

In this video, we connect to the exact same table in SQL Server and try to edit with MapWindow 5.

    Dear Gordon,
I follow your guide but I can’t save new features when using tool “Add Geometry” in SQL Server; but Delete / Move features or edit vertex are successful. Debug window warns “Failed to save OGR changes: MSSQL…” Could you spend some time to check my issues?
Here’s the link to sample data (script to create database) & screenshot of error:

Make sure the primary key is set to IDENTITY.

As described in the database, the field [OBJECTID] is used as the primary key & set to IDENTITY. I can edit geometry features normally in QGIS, but get failure in MW5. May this error depend on MW & MSSQL versions?
I’m using MW 5.3 & MSQQL 2008/2012. What are the versions of MW & MSSQL you using?
